Yamaha only builds four stroke snowmobiles. No more two strokes. Yamaha built the NYTRO for people that want to ride in all kinds of areas. The NYTRO rides in deep powder or wet heavy snow, and can handle any trail. Yamaha has always been known for their smooth ride on the trail.

Yamaha dealers have asked Yamaha for years to build a sled that will boon dock with the competition. The NYTRO was built. This sled will be one of Yamahas best sellers.

Yamaha built this snowmobile to run. The NYTRO full of fuel weighs in at 615 pounds with electric start. This is true sled weight. With 138 HP before brake in, and after 200 miles the sled has seen 142 HP.

The dry weight of a sled is not true weight. Your old 1997 mountain max 700 triple weighed about the same as the NYTRO without electric start. It only had a 141 track and 120 hp.

The NYTRO three cylinders you can ride for years trouble free. Four strokes will last 5 times longer than a two stroke. As a dealer, we only do minor maintenance on the new snowmobiles. No more jetting for altitude or sled burn downs because of temperature changes. No more piston replacement every 2000 to 3000 miles.

But some people may want 280 HP, a sled that weighs in at about 645 pounds, and lasts 6000 to 10,000 miles. Yamaha four strokes are the only snowmobile engine that will last after super charged or turbo charged.

To get 200 HP out of a two stroke will cost you between $4,000 and $8,000 and just maybe you can ride it one season.

I hear people say all the time, you had to spend $5,000 so the sled can run with all the rest. No that is not true. I put $5,000 in my snowmobile so I’m ahead of the pack or can climb higher than the rest and do this year after year with a one time investment.

The people that have already gone down that road, know full well what they have spent to get 200 HP out of a two stroke engine. Then two or three rides later, rebuilt the engine because it burned down for unknown reasons.

For the people that want to just ride, change the engine oil once a year, and pump regular fuel, Yamaha is the one to ride.
